The Key of Epona.
Epona is a goddess worshiped in Gaul. She is a Sovereignty Goddess of Fertility, Plenty, Horses, Horse Riders. She and her Horses where the leaders of the soul in the after-life ride - represented by the key. She is seen with a key or keys in many statues that represent her along with a basket of fruit, a dog a dish and few other items that represent her. Epona has many meanings a water Goddess a Mother Goddess she is the only god of the Gauls that the Romans did not change when they brought her into their Pantheon of gods. This Key is made from Oak Wood, which the druids believed to be the source of the strength and energy of their gods.
The words Duir, Dru, Drus, and Daur are an old Celtic and Greek word for Oak which also means Door. Giving truth to spirituality believed and mythology that the oak is a spiritual gateway.
